Crown and bridge (dental prosthesis)
If there is a strong loss of substance of a tooth, crowning is necessary for functional and aesthetic reasons. The metal crown (metal dental crown) or the crown consisting of a metal shell covered with a ceramic (the ceramic dental crown) or the crown only ceramic (all-ceramic dental crown).
If one or more teeth are missing the bridge then presents a solution and an alternative to the implant. Example for the replacement of a single missing tooth: the bridge will consist of 3 elements. Two pillars: the teeth on both sides of the missing tooth are crowned. An inter: the missing tooth. It consists of pillar elements connected together. Crowns and bridges are fixed (cemented) and can not be removed.
